The repeater

The repeater coverage area is @ 60 miles from a 35w mobile in all directions from Midtown Manhattan.

The repeater was moved from the 87th floor to the 83rd floor in 2005.  The new location is air conditioned 24/7 and is much more secure then the original location.

The new configuration also allowed us to separate the TX and RX antennas.  With this new setup, thanks to Alex KQ2H, the repeater has great receive because of the high gain on the rx antennas and a 16 dB preamp on the receiver.

The next project now is to install a second receiver down in Brooklyn to provide better local coverage in Brooklyn. This receiver will be voted in at the main site eventually.

This is an on going project and any help would be appreciated.
